Ex- Premier League Player Thomas Partey Rejects Sexual Assault Allegations

Thomas Partey court appearance
Thomas Partey appeared at Southwark Crown Court for his plea hearing

Former footballer Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault multiple complainants and sexually assaulting a third woman.

The Ghanaian football star pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court.

The alleged offences were said to have happened between 2021 and 2022, when the 32-year-old regularly played in the Premier League. He was charged several days after departing from the London-based team, following the conclusion of his contract at the end of June.

Mr Partey was released on conditional bail until his court case, which is scheduled to begin at the identical venue on 2 November next year.

He verbally acknowledged his name before denying all charges to every accusation made against him.

The professional player, who currently represents Spanish side Villareal, was present in the UK as his current club faced Spurs in the European competition on this week. He came on as a replacement in what resulted in a narrow defeat for his side.

The terms of his bail do not restrict Mr Partey from continuing his professional career, but he must inform authorities of any international travel 24 hours in advance and must avoid communication with the alleged victims.
